Everlasting Love
I first met him online through a personal ad on Yahoo. I'd decided to post one for fun and to try to get a few penpals online. Two days after I posted the ad, I had 56 responses ... I was amazed at how many had replied.
I read each one carefully. I didn't admit it to myself then, but I wanted to find someone to love.

As I was nearing the bottom of the list, I was becoming anxious. None of the responses had really appealed to me. Sure, they were flattering, but they just didn't match my personal search criteria.
That is, until I read response #56. Something about this one just caught my attention. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it was there.
We would talk for hours on ICQ and soon I began to realize that I was falling for this person. I thought I'd been in love before, but somehow, this felt different.
We exchanged phone numbers and in addition to the hours a day we spent online, we spent more on the phone. Not long after, we also exchanged pictures ... and then more hours were spent gazing into his beautiful face.
We lived in the same state and he wasn't too far away, so after two months, he came to visit me for a few days. I was ecstatic.
On the day he was to arrive, I got out of school early and rushed home. His car was already in my driveway. I ran up the porch stairs ... and there he was sitting on my couch. He was even more beautiful in person. I immediately fell for him.
Our time together was over all too soon. By the end of the weekend, we realized that we loved each other. All the next day in school, he was on my mind. I was on the verge of tears. At the end of the day, I was called to the office ... someone was out in the parking lot to pick me up. I ran out and there he was.
He embraced me and we stayed like that for minutes, crying on each other's shoulders. He had to leave a few hours later.
Off and on he still visits me, and each goodbye is all the more painful. Our parents say that long distance relationships never work out. Well, we are going to prove them wrong.
You see, when our eyes first met, I not only saw the person behind the voice on the phone, I saw my future husband and father of my children. I saw the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I realized that you only fall in love once, and I fell in love with him.
We are still together, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
